Ahyan played his first chess tournament

 Ahyan played his first chess tournament today. It was a quad arranged by bay area chess. He played 3 games winning the first one, loosing the second one and drawing the third one. He got a medal too. Shusmita, I and Suhaila were there as well. It was a USCF rated chess tournament. I made him USCF member just couple of days back. Hopefully its the start of a kong but pleasant journey!

Ahyan defeated Mom in 5 moves

This thanks giving holiday, Ahyan got a good chess practice from me and his mom. As a result he ended up mating his Mom in 5 moves yesterday. A similar mate he did the previous night as well.

He now started solving the chess puzzles in this book. I will make him USCF memeber next week and take him to his first USCF tournament.
